    Description
    Product Description

Conductivity is a numerical representation of the ability of a solution to conduct electric current. We often use it to express the purity of water. In some industrial situations, pure water or even ultrapure water is used, so monitoring conductivity is very important. Theoretically, there are only two ions in pure water, H+ and OH- produced by water decomposition. The conductivity of a water sample without any impurities at 25°C is 0.055 μS/cm. The conductivity of ultrapure water is very small and difficult to display. The electrical conductivity of water is related to the resistance value of water. If the resistance value is large, the electrical conductivity is poor. If the resistance value is small, the electrical conductivity is good. Therefore, resistivity is usually used to express the purity of a liquid. The reciprocal of resistivity is conductivity. The ASCK-0.01 conductivity electrode developed and produced by Daruifuno is made of 316 stainless steel. It has a two-electrode measurement principle. An electrode with a K constant of 0.01 can monitor 0.05~20μS/cm. It has stable measurement and high precision. It is suitable for conductivity monitoring of ultrapure water. If paired with the AEC1 online Conductivity Controller, it can also display resistivity, salinity, and TDS values to help users better monitor the quality of pure water.

The conductivity of pure water is very small. When the water contains inorganic acids, alkalis, salts or organic charged colloids, the conductivity increases. Conductivity is often used to indirectly estimate the total concentration of charged species in water. The conductivity of an aqueous solution depends on the nature and concentration of the charged substance, the temperature and viscosity of the solution, etc. The measurement principle of conductivity is that when two parallel electrodes are inserted into the solution, the resistance R between the two electrodes can be measured. According to Ohm's law, when the temperature remains constant, this resistance value is directly proportional to the electrode spacing L (cm) and inversely proportional to the electrode cross-sectional area A (cm2). Since the electrode area A and spacing L are both fixed, L/A is a constant, called the conductivity cell constant or electrode constant. Daruifuno's ASCK series conductivity electrodes provide three choices of cell constants: 1, 0.1 and 0.01, which can measure conductivity values in different ranges.
