The Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) is the amount of oxidant consumed when treating water samples with a strong oxidizing agent under specific conditions. It indicates the level of reducing substances in water. Higher COD values suggest more severe organic pollution.
Traditional methods include acidic potassium permanganate oxidation (lower oxidation rate but simpler) and potassium dichromate oxidation (higher oxidation rate and better reproducibility). The Duruifuno COD351 sensor adopts an innovative ultraviolet absorption method, measuring organic matter content in wastewater at specific wavelengths without reagents, offering low maintenance, pollution-free operation, and cost-effectiveness.
