ORP value refers to the oxidation-reduction potential, which is a measure of the redox capacity of water. In the monitoring of drinking water, the ORP value is a very important parameter, which can reflect the redox status of the water body and determine whether the water quality meets the standard. Generally speaking, the higher the ORP value, the more oxidants are in the water, and vice versa, which means there are more reducing agents. In the drinking water treatment process, the ORP value of raw water needs to be measured, because the ORP value describes the concentraction ratio of reducing and oxidizing substances in the water. These include nitrates, sulfates and manganese oxides. A low ORP value means a higher risk of microbial contamination.
