In the process of industrial production, chloride ions also exist in sewage and wastewater. Swimming pool water and drinking water also contain chloride ions due to the use of chloride for disinfection. Seawater contains sodium chloride, which has a high content of chloride ions. Chloride ion (Cl-), a negatively charged chlorine atom, is the predominant ionic form in compounds such as chloride (sodium chloride). Chloride ions are safe for humans in moderate amounts, but high concentrations may have negative health effects. Therefore, it is very necessary to use a Chloride Ion Sensor to monitor the chloride ion content.
What is the principle of the chloride Ion Sensor?
Daruifuno's ACL series chloride ion sensors are based on the working principle of ion selective electrodes. The sensor usually consists of two electrodes: a working electrode and a reference electrode. The working electrode is coated with a selective ion-sensitive membrane that reacts specifically only with chloride ions. When chloride ions are present in solution, they react with specific chemicals on the selective ion-sensitive membrane, causing a change in the electrical potential at the electrode surface. This change in potential is measured by a sensor and converted to Chloride Ion Concentration.
