Excessive ammonina nitrogen in water bodies is mostly related to human activities, such as wastewater generated from industrial production, agricultural activities, and sewage treatment. If the high concentration of ammonium nitrogen in these wastewater is not treated or these are problems in the treatment process, it will be discharged directly and cause excessive ammonia nitrogen in natural water bodies. Another situation is when a large amount of organic matter enters natural water bodies, it can also cause ammonia nitrogen to exceed the standard. However, whether it is human factors or natural factors, excessive ammonia nitrogen will have a serious impact on the environment. Therefore, when ammonia nitrogen exceeds the standard, it must be dealt with quickly to reduce the risks caused by excessive ammonia nitrogen. The NH351 online ammonia nitrogen sensor developed and produced by Daruifuno can continuously monitor the ammonia nitrogen value of water quality in real time. It integrates an ammonium ion electrode, a pH electrode and a reference electrode. The sensor also has the temperature compensation function.
So what are the methods to deal with excessive ammonia nitrogen in sewage plant?
1. Aeration method: the aeration method achieves ammonia nitrogen removal by increasing the oxygen content in the water body. Ammonia nitrogen can be oxidized to nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrite nitrogen under high oxidation conditions. Generally, wastewater that exceeds the standard is sent into a large aeration tank, and then a large amount of air is transported into the water to increase the oxygen content. This stimulates the metabolism of microorganisms in the wastewater and accelerates the oxidation reaction of ammonia nitrogen in the wastewater. This method is low cost, simple to operate and easy to manage.
2. Biological treatment method: it is mainly a method that uses microorganisms to treat organic matter and ammonia nitrogen in wastewater. Ammonia nitrogen is converted into nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen through a series of microbial reactions. Let the wastewater enter the bioreactor, which contains various types of microorganisms, and then use ammonia nitrogen as a raw material for microbial growth and reproduction. In this process, the microorganisms will convert ammonia nitrogen into nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen through metabolism. This method takes a long time to process, but the removal rate can reach more than 90%.

3. Chemical treatment method: A method of converting ammonia nitrogen into harmless nitrogen by adding chemicals to wastewater. Commonly used chemicals include ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, sodium hypochlorite, etc. These chemicals can accelerate the oxidation reaction of ammonia nitrogen and convert it into harmless substances such as nitrogen gas. This method is a fast and effective method, but the type and dosage of chemicals are required to avoid secondary pollution to the environment.
4. Plant treatment method: This method uses plants' ability to absorb ammonia nitrogen to convert ammonia nitrogen into organic matter or absorb it into plants. Commonly used nitrogen-absorbing plants include calamus, reed, etc. These plants absorb ammonia nitrogen from wastewater through their roots and use it as nutrients to grow and reproduce. The plant treatment method is suitable for the treatment of small pollutants, has low cost, and can beautify the environment.
5. Physical treatment: physical treatment is a method of removing ammonia nitrogen from wastewater through filtration, precipitation and other methods. For example, activated carbon can be used to adsorb ammonia nitrogen, or ammonia nitrogen in wastewater can be removed through depth filtration. Although this method has better treatment effects, it is more expensive.
6. Comprehensive treatment: It combines a variety of ammonia nitrogen treatment methods to improve treatment efficiency and reduce costs. For example, a combination of biological treatment and chemical treatment, or a combination of plant treatment and physical treatment may be used.
